'Jawalaa Dahej Ki' is a challenging story depicting the consequences of Dowry which has become the burning issue of our today's society. Lajwanti, an innocent village girl leads her life like a butterfly in the open field and in unpolluted sky of her village. Her father is worried for his only child's marriage as he has got not enough money to provide dowry which is a must in his society. While searching a bridegroom for her daughter he knocks the door of Rameshwar who has been dreaming for his only beloved younger sister's marriage. At the ripe time he also could not manage the amount settled for dowry with bridegroom's party. He finds himself completely confused and perplexed. He runs madly and ultimately falls in the hands of bad elements of society. He agrees to get himself married with an unknown girl for the sake of a meagre amount which will save the deterioration of her sister's marriage. He involves himself in a false marriage and when he comes back with the amount his sister has already committed suicide as the BARAT has gone back without completing the marriage rituals. Rameshwar is astonished. His own sister becomes the victim of the devastating Dowry. When he gets consciousness he repents for his deed where another girl has also been duped for the very name of dory. He prepares himself to meet the old challenge of society and to search out Lajwanti his tortured wife. But Lajwanti has been sent very far from his reach. What happens in the end is to be seen on the Silver screen.
